Welcome to episode 786 – in which host Polly Hammond interviews Diva Giles on this week’s installment of “Uncorked”.
We hear that “Millennials aren’t buying wine” but Diva Giles is here to tell you that’s not the full story. As a 26 year old owner of a successful, award-winning wine bar, Diva brings her insights to the question of how to build a better relationship with younger drinkers. From non-wanky language to meaningful storytelling to getting over our own BS, here are the lessons we need to hear to show love to the next generation. A definite must for your wine listening this week!
DIva Giles is the co-owner of Beau Wine Bar, known in Auckland for its robust wine list and more-ish food, but most importantly, for being a hub for wine lovers from 18 to 80. With an approach that breaks the common rules of wine, she and her business partner Logan Birch have definite thoughts on how the wine world markets to and communicates with the younger audience. And if their success is any indicator, they’re doing something we all could learn from…
