They are situated on the North slope of Mount Etna at Passopisciaro, an area where viticulture goes back several thousand years. Their vineyards are to be found at an altitude of between 600 and 1,000 metres above sea level in Contrada Arcurìa, in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, in Contrada Muganazzi, in Contrada Santo Spirito and in Contrada Barbabecchi. Planting density ranges between 6,000 and 10,000 vines per hectare. Some of the vines are on their own roots, that is to say are ungrafted…

Marc Millon, VIA Italian Wine Ambassador 2021, has been travelling, eating, drinking, learning and writing about wine, food and travel for nearly 40 years. Born in Mexico, with a mother from Hawaii via Korea and an anthropologist father from New York via Paris, he was weaned on exotic and delicious foods.
