Welcome to episode 795 – in which host Polly Hammond interviews Susan and Chloe Pate of Pate International in San Francisco on this week’s installment of “Uncorked”.
We’re joined today by powerhouse Mother and Daughter team Susan and Chloe Pate, the creative team behind some of the wine world’s most iconic designs. Through the lens of two generations of design and business, we’ll discuss the timelessness and evolution of wine branding, and hear some terrific stories along the way.
Susan Roach Pate is the proprietor and creative director of Pate International, where she is joined by daughter Chloe in driving design excellence for wine icons such as Domaine Chandon, Opus One, Robert Mondavi, and Luce, the Mondavi joint venture with Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi. Pate International has designed all of the branding and packaging for Bill Harlan’s cult wines, including Harlan Estate, BOND, Mascot, The Napa Valley Reserve and PROMONTORY. Recent successful campaigns have been launched for Diageo Chateaux and Estates, Jackson Family Wines, The PlumpJack Group and Campari’s SKYY Vodka. In addition to its wine and spirits clients, Pate International has also worked with numerous high-end hospitality entities, including The Ritz Carlton, Northstar Ski Resort and the Silverado Country Club.
