AROUND THE WORLD WITH ITALIAN WINE PODCAST

What’s new

As the temperature rises in June (one of the hottest on record), there’s been no respite from the heat for the Italian Wine Podcast team! Instead, we’ve been soldiering away, bringing you the best in wine-related content from around the world. One project that is now really beginning to take-off, after years of behind-the-scenes development, is the Jumbo Shrimp Wine Study Maps. Encompassing audio, a study guidebook (out later this year) and the box set of maps themselves, a partner series of podcasts hosted by Dr Rebecca Lawrence IWA, Erin DeMara IWA and Peggy Baudon IWA is now available wherever you get your podcasts.

ESCAPE TO UMBRIA

In the Spotlight

Once again, Stevie Kim has been On the Road, this time exploring the beautiful wine region of Umbria.  Located in central Italy, historically the region was best known for its white wine, Orvieto. Umbria now has a total of 2 DOCG, 13 DOC wines and 6 IGT classified areas, with the region’s red wines, like the deep colored, antioxidant-rich wines of Sagrantino enjoying particular success at the moment. In this new three-part series Stevie visits the Consorzio di Montefalco and meets its charismatic new President Giampaolo Tabarrini. Join us On the Road in Umbria over on the Mamma Jumbo Shrimp Youtube channel!
