About today’s guest producer:
Valeria Agosta is the owner of Palmento Costanzo, a family-run winery in Contrada Santo Spirito, Sicily that has been embodying a strictly native idea of viticulture and hospitality on the slopes of Etna since 2010.
With a background in languages and training in marketing and communications, Valeria’s story is one of courage, passion and roots. Raised in Catania, at the foot of Etna, the volcano is inextricably linked to her identity, just like her passion for wine, which she shares with her family – especially daughter Serena, who now studies Viticulture and Enology in Montpellier and supports her in running the winery – and which has taken her around the world. Valeria is WSET qualified and is both a FIS Sommelier and ONAV Assaggiatore.
After spending some time in Rome, the magnetic pull of Etna takes her back to the native land, where she decides to takes on the courageous project of restoring the ancient palmento and the centenary vineyards in Contrada Santo Spirito. Here she now runs Palmento Costanzo, guided by the purpose of celebrating her roots and that of the long-lasting wine tradition of Etna.
