The Controlled Denomination of Origin (DOC) Sicilia was officially recognized on 22 November 2011 by a Decree issued by the Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry.
The following year, 2012, marked the year of the foundation of Consorzio di Tutela Vini Sicilia DOC: the winegrowers, winemakers and bottlers promoting the recognition of the DOC, decided to establish the consortium, an organization that would not only give them a voice, but would concretely enhance and safeguard the island’s wine production.
The mission of Sicilia DOC is to connect passionate winemakers throughout the region. Sicilia DOC aims to strengthen the identity of Sicilian wines, while improving their quality, image and market position.
The Consorzio’s task is also to convey the Sicilia Doc system, as a producer of excellence of contemporary wines, pleasant with an excellent quality/price ratio.
